Happy 85th to Albert „Tootie” Heath! As his brother Jimmy Heath would say, „You’re moved up to 85th Street.” Keep going strong Tootie. Here is from his time in Europe playing #SonnyRollins, Kenny Drew and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. The younger brother of Percy and Jimmy Heath, Tootie Albert Heath was with J.J. Johnson’s group (1958-1960) and the Jazztet (1960-1961) He lived in Europe from 1965-1968, and after returning to the U.S., he played regularly with Herbie Hancock’s sextet (1968-1969) and Yusef Lateef (1970-1974).
