Paco passed away today 6 years ago. This was the last time we played together two years earlier at the Jazz Festival in Leverkusen/Germany. I miss him a lot! To Commemorate our time together as a trio back in 1980 at the famous Warfield Theatre in San Francisco we are planning to release a “SATURDAY NIGHT IN SAN FRANCISCO” live recording of different pieces then the FNISF ( which took place the night after FNISF) since we had these other pieces in my vault for 40 years preserved .
The trio pieces are Meeting of the Spirits Splendido Sundance , Orfeo Negro ( Theme from Black Orfeos) , El Panuelo from Paco, Spain and individual solos from each of us!
The chops and interplay were off the charts!
